Maximize feeding possibilities and add additional feeders to a hanging feeder station. Use the sturdy Suet Link to hang suet or other feeders under any threaded Droll Yankees feeders or hummingbird feeders.  It can also be used to attach seed trays. The Suet Link can be used as a substitute for the black threaded plug included with Droll Yankees seed trays. Sturdy UV stabilized polycarbonate construction will hold up for years of use. Proudly made in the U.S.A.

  • Hang suet or other feeders under any threaded Droll Yankees feeder such as the X-1, DCF, Shelter Feeders, or any hanging hummingbird feeders
  • Also use to attach seed trays such as the A-6T or Omni Seed Tray – use as a substitute for the black threaded plug
  • 2 7/8″ length
  • Made in U.S.A.

Placement: Birds feel vulnerable out in the open, so try to place your feeder near a bush or tree. If you have other feeders, placing this one near an older one will help the birds get used to it. These creatures of habit could take weeks to feel comfortable at the new feeder.

Mounting: Hang your feeder with a hook or chain or mount it on a bird feeder pole.

When to Feed: Feeding year round is good for the birds and gives you the most enjoyment.

Water: Birds need a regular supply of water for both drinking and bathing.

Cleaning: Please, for the sake of the birds, keep your feeders clean! Dirty feeders can harm the birds. Use our Bird Feeder Brush (BFB) for thorough and simple cleaning. Dry thoroughly before filling with seed.

Metal perches: Birds’ feet won’t stick to metal perches in freezing weather since they have no sweat glands in them.

Discourage squirrels: Place your feeder 4 feet from the ground and 8 feet from anything a squirrel can jump from.

I used one of these to attach a Droll Yankees Suet feeder under a Droll Yankees feeder. The product was as described, but I found that the suet feeder started to slip either left or right based on bird usage (the chain though the hook loop, thus making the suet feeder lopsided). I decided to use a Droll Yankees wingnut to hold the suet feeder instead, feeding the hook through one of the chain links on the feeder. This makes it hold more secure and doesn’t allow the feeder to slip to either side. I would recommend trying the wingnut first for this purpose.
