This is a good solid feeder. I like the yellow color for attracting Goldfinches. I like the ring pull feature, it seems to work well and the parts all hold together solidly and tightly when the ring is in place. This feature is great for cleaning. I was using a New Generation type songbird feeder before that required me to unscrew bolts in order to fully take it apart for cleaning. The ring pull system will definitely cut down on the frustration of that. The one I ordered came with a cap that didn’t seat right on the top of the feeder. I was concerned that it wasn’t secure enough and it looked a little goofy at an angle. I tried to exchange it, but the store I ordered from was out of stock. In an attempt to fix it myself I tried to bend one of the interior tabs but in trying to flex it a little it snapped off. There are still three internal lid tabs that hold it on somewhat secure. Upon contacting Droll Yankees I was told that since I broke it they wouldn’t attempt to replace it for me even though I told them of the original error. Generally I have found Droll Yankees customer service helpful when I have called with questions. In researching past Droll feeder purchases in store, I have noticed a pattern of the caps on some of the feeders not fitting on straight all the way. In conclusion, don’t try to fix the feeder by yourself if the cap has issues. Even despite this issue, I still recommend this feeder. This is my fourth Droll Yankee feeder type and overall I am pleased with quality.
