FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DROLL YANKEES BIRD FEEDERS WILL BE FEATURED ON
THE MARTHA STEWART SHOW
Droll Yankees® line of wild bird feeders will be featured on the Martha Stewart Show on February 6, 2009, which airs on ABC. (For information on which station will air the show in your area, go to http://www.marthastewart.com/affiliateinfo). The segment will feature Dr. Stephen Kress, Vice President of Bird Conservation for the National Audubon Society. His role on the show is to talk about tips for feeding wild birds during the cold winter months, The Great Backyard Bird Count, which is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent (http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc). Other important topics like Project Puffin, as well as his latest book, The Audubon Society Guide to Attracting Birds, will also be discussed.
Many Droll Yankees feeders will be discussed and demonstrated on the show, including the new line of removable base feeders, the Onyx Clever Clean®. The Onyx Clever Clean design expresses the state of the art in bird feeders through superior quality and ease of use. The twist and release base allows a clean fresh fill every time, which helps prevent the growth of mold toxins that are harmful to the birds. Prior to refilling the feeder, a simple twist of the wrist removes the base so that debris and chaff can be cleared. Then another twist locks the base in place and the feeder is ready to accept bird food.
The focus on cleaning bird feeders was initiated by Droll Yankees in 1995 when they introduced the first bird feeder cleaning brush to the market. Droll Yankees feeders have always been designed to come apart for thorough cleaning.
The Yankee Flipper Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder will also be showcased to represent the ultimate option in squirrel proof bird feeding. The Yankee Flipper has a weight activated perch ring that engages a NiCad Battery when a squirrel’s weight is applied to it. This motion gently flips the squirrels off the bird feeder in an entertaining manner.
Martha Stewart is an avid feeder of wild birds and shared with the audience that she uses many Droll Yankees products at her own home. Droll Yankees generously gave all 185 audience members a free 24” Onyx Clever Clean removable base sunflower feeder to take home.
